Accused of rape by law student, court sends Chinmayanand jail for 14 days

Former Union Minister and BJP leader Swami Chinmayanand, accused of raping a student, was arrested by UP SIT in Shahjahanpur on Friday morning.  He was arrested from his Mumukshu Ashram in Shahjahanpur. Chinmayanand has been a three-time former MP and was a Minister of State for Home in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led BJP government. The Supreme Court had set up a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the allegations against him.
