Bihar Elections: How Lalu Became National Leader By Stopping Advani's Rath Yatra?

In 1990, Lalu Prasad Yadav, the then Chief Minister of Bihar, had stopped Lal Krishna Advani's Rath Yatra at Sitamarhi and ordered the arrest of the BJP leader. He had said it was clear in his mind that Advani's yatra was a direct threat to the minority community and communal harmony, and the secular character of the nation had to be protected at all costs. This incident made Lalu a national leader.
