20 Indian Army personnel were martyred in a violent face-off with Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley in eastern Ladakh in June, the biggest military confrontation in over 5 decades that has escalated the already volatile border stand-off in the region. There were disputes over the LAC with China and never was the situation escalated to this extent before. China was planning this aggression for over two years and due to intelligence failure, the India side came to know about the conspiracy only when 20 soldiers were martyred.
