All is not well in Congress as big leaders in the party are angry with the Gandhi family leadership. There are speculations that the party is heading to a big split. Will this happen? Possibly not, as none of the leaders yield as much power as Indira Gandhi did. In 1969 when the party opposed Indira, then she split up the party. She did the same thing again in 1978, and in 1981 she changed the name of the party. The changes she brought to the party, made it stronger. Leaders such as Morarji Desai, Jagjivan Ram, Pranab Mukherjee, P Chidambaram, Sharad Pawar, Madhav Rao Scindia, Arjun Singh, Natwar Singh, Kuldeep Bishnoi, and Ajit Tyagi had split from the party and started new ones. But either their political career failed or they had to return to Congress. And those like Sharad Pawar who did not return had to form alliances with Congress to stay in power. In this video know how the Congress party recovered from several splits.
