Currently, India is the 17th country to surpass the 20000 mark for positive coronavirus cases. At a time when scientists are working overtime in search of a vaccine for the disease and worldwide almost every country has enforced either a local or nationwide lockdown, herd immunity can be a possible strategy to beat the coronavirus. There are reports that Sweden and the UK have applied this technique. Now that there is news that cases are reducing in India, how viable is a further extension of the lockdown?
