In a heart-wrenching video, the Covid-19 patients can be seen lying beside the dead bodies while the treatment is on.
The video was shared by BJP leader Nitin Rane on Wednesday where he confirmed the veracity of the video at Sion hospital and blamed the Mumbai civic body BMC of 'mismanagement'.
On Thursday, Rane again tweeted that the dean of Sion hospital has accepted the video and says the relatives don’t come to claim the bodies so we have kept them there.
He further raised questions on the handling of dead bodies by the authorities and said it’s a medical emergency.
On the officials being contacted after the video was made public, officials said there were too many dead bodies inside the hospital in absence of people coming to collect them. It is said that the ward in which the video was shot has the oxygen coming through the wall so beds cannot be shifted because of the ventilators on those beds.
However, as soon as the video started surfacing and the incident was reported, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has ordered an inquiry into the incident.
Meanwhile, BJP leader Kirit Somaiya also tweeted saying he wrote to ICMR asking them to consider suggestions in tackling the present situation.
After this report has been made public others are sharing similar incidences on mismanagement and poor conditions of Mumbai hospitals.
