Living in a metropolitan city is definitely a costly affair. From room rent to groceries to medical facilities almost everything is expensive. So, what is the ideal salary that one thinks is enough to survive in cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai. Well, it surely is a debatable topic and a woman has just done that.

Twitter user Medha Ganti shared a post about how a monthly salary of Rs 50,000 for a single person is not enough to survive in a metro city.

"Why are fresher salaries so low? How is someone supposed to survive on it in a metro city? With 50k a month you'll barely have any savings. Not everyone can take money from their families!, read the caption of the post shared by Ganti.

"The answer can't be to make better career choices! People have diff skill sets. 3rd year mein toh you start getting an idea of what you might want to do," she further wrote in the same thread.

Since being shard, the main tweet of Ganti ha gone viral and accumulated more than 1 million views and several comments.

"I know ppl with lower than 50k salaries, but still end up saving atleast 8-10k per month, post all expenses. And I also know ppl whose lifestyle expenses go beyond 50k. Its all in the lifestyle we want to live," commented one user on the post.

While one agreed and wrote, "Though I agree that 50k is low in metro city, but it totally depends on your lifestyle. For example, as a fresher I am also getting only 30k in Bengaluru, around 10k I send to my family, but still end up saving around 5k."

"Also, which freshers are getting 50K salaries? It’s even lesser. I’m assuming IT/software engineer here," wrote a third.
