The police in India are not only entrusted with the job of maintaining law and order but can sometimes be seen helping out people and doing welfare activity in their own capacity. One such remarkable video of a woman cop in Hyderabad clearing a clogged drain for accumulated water to drain out has gone viral on the internet.
Shared on the microblogging site X, formerly Twitter, the woman police officer by the name Dhana Laxmi can be seen cleaning the blocked drain near the Tolichowki flyover in the south-west zone of Hyderabad by her own hands. Another police officer is also seen in the video helping out the police officer in clearing the drain.
"Smt D Dhana Laxmi, ACP Tr South West Zone, cleared the waterlogging by removing the clog at drain water near Tolichowki flyover," read the caption of the post shared by the Hyderabad Traffic Police.
Since being shared, the video has amassed 258.2k views, 3,881 likes and tons of comments.
"Really great service. Citizens should feel shame of throwing garbage especially plastic left and right everywhere," commented one user on the post.
"Salutes to such dedicated such personnels like Smt. D. Dhana Laxmi, ACP Tr South West Zone for the service they do on the ground," wrote another user.
"I am saluting both the officers who did this good work,' commented a third.
While a fourth sarcastically wrote, "Thanks to Municipal corporation who didn't clean and the people who threw the garbage in open. Same story in every city."
