Visiting a temple for performing 'Vahan Puja' (vehicle puja) for a newly purchased two-wheeler or a four-wheeler is nothing unusual in India. But a businessman from Hyderabad in Telangana just took this tradition to a whole new level. Boinpally Srinivas Rao took his brand new luxury chopper to Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Telangana for a ‘Vahan Puja'.

Rao, the owner of Prathima Group, an infrastructure company, took his Airbus ACH 135, worth an estimated $5.7 million (or nearly Rs 47 crore), about 100 kilometres from Hyderabad for the special puja. His family members also joined him on the flight and were present at the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple for the puja, which was led by three priests from the temple, according to a Telangana Today report.

Former Maharashtra governor Vidyasagar Rao, a relative of Srinivas Rao, was also present during the puja. They also took a sortie in the chopper around the popular hill shrine after the vahan puja was performed, according to the Telangana Today report.
