A video of a buffalo escaping a pride of lions utilising a crocodile-infested river to his advantage has gone viral on the internet. The clip shows the buffalo's swift movements to dodge the attacks of the lions and later escaping into the water body. The video of the battle was originally shared on Instagram by Antoni Britz, who is the manager at Elephant Walk Retreat.


"The Vurhami Pride paid us a visit at Ellie Walk yesterday, they were attempting to hunt this lone buffalo… giving our guests and our staff quite a show," read the caption of the video shared by Elephant Walk Retreat.


The video opens to show a buffalo surrounded by pride of lions trying to attack it. But the buffalo very bravely fights them and saves itself from the attack of the lions by quickly escaping into a crocodile-infested river. The lions do not try to enter the waterbody and give up on the chase.

The incident happened in Kruger National Park, South Africa. The Elephant Walk Retreat is situated 50 m from the Crocodile Bridge entrance to the national park.


Since being shared the video has amassed 13,698 likes and several comments.
