New Delhi: While social media is known for all the wrong reasons, there are still certain things that happen to make everyone believe that everything has both good and bad aspects. For this 10-year-old Bihar girl, social media became a boon after her video of hopping to school on one leg went viral. She has now got a prosthetic leg.
Seema, a 10-year-old girl from Bihar’s Jamui district, lost one of her legs two years ago. Her leg had to be amputated but that did not stop her from going to school.
A few days ago, her video went viral on social media in which she could be seen hopping to school.
After the video was shared all over the internet by the people, the Jamui District Magistrate Awanish Kumar and several other senior officials went to Fatehpur village reached out to her, and gave her a tri-cycle to help her go to school.
However, besides the Bihar administration, actor Sonu Sood also came into the picture as he offered to help her.
“Now she will go to school by jumping on not one but both feet. I am sending the ticket, the time has come to walk on both feet,” Sood tweeted.
Sood runs a charity named Sood Charity Foundation that helps people in need across the country.
Soon enough, Seema got a prosthetic leg, a picture of which was shared by Officer Swati Lakra.
“The positive power of social media 🙌 #Seema who had lost one leg and was forced to hop to school received a prosthetic leg after her video hopping to school went viral....... Standing on her two feet,” Lakra tweeted.
IAS Officer and Jamui DM Ashwani Sharan also lauded the power of social media while sharing Seema’s photo with a prosthetic leg.
