Elephants are one of the most adorable animals around. They share a strong bond with humans that is sometimes evident in videos shared on the internet. There are several instances where both have come to one another's rescue. In one such incident, a clip showing a little girl rescuing a baby elephant from a muddy ditch has gone viral.

What is even more wonderful is the animal’s reaction after being rescued.

The 36-second clip wash shared on the microblogging site Twitter by Indian Forest Service (IFS) Officer Susanta Nanda who wrote, "She helped the elephant baby come out of the mud it was struck in. baby is acknowledged with a blessing."

The video since being posted on Thursday has accumulated more than 86,000 views and counting. The share has also received close over 5,000 likes.

In the clip one can see the baby elephant stuck in a muddy ditch in between a rural road and a sugarcane field. Soon a woman enters and pulls the baby jumbo by its legs and helps it to get out of the situation.

After a few attempts, the elephant succeeds in coming out of the ditch and extends its trunk towards the girl in gratitude.

The heartwarming video impressed twitter users as one of them wrote, Just as life, all that someone needs is a little bit of encouragement and reaching out. Wow! This is so heartwarming."

While another wrote, "Lovely! This planet equally belongs to everyone and everyone should help each other."

"Such a lovely gesture by the little elephant, priceless clip. Well done little girl too!" posted a third.

Another user, however, expressed surprise over the person filming the incident and not helping the girl.
