New Delhi: Akshay Kumar starrer 'Ram Setu' and Ajay Devgn and Sidharth Malhotra starrer 'Thank God' continued to see a drop in the box office numbers. As per trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh, both films need to grow on Saturday-Stunday to be able to have a decent extended weekend collection.
Taking to his official Twitter handle, Taran Adarsh tweeted 'Ram Setu's business collection. "#RamSetu continues to slip, drops further on Day 4 [Fri]… Biz needs to grow/jump on Sat - Sun for a respectable <6-day> *extended* weekend total… Tue 15.25 cr, Wed 11.40 cr, Thu 8.75 cr, Fri 6.05 cr. Total: ₹ 41.45 cr. #India biz." He wrote.
For 'Thank God', Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#ThankGod continues to struggle… Extremely poor trending… Biz on Sat - Sun is its only hope… Tue 8.10 cr, Wed 6 cr, Thu 4.15 cr, Fri 3.30 cr. Total: ₹ 21.55 cr. #India biz."
Akshay Kumar has seen many releases this year and none have failed to make the expected mark on the box office. His 'Ram Setu' is doing decent business and if the film performs well during the weekend, 'Ram Setu' will be have met its share of expectation. As per our in-house review, 'Ram Setu' is a consensus narrative. It is another film in the plethora of films which reinstate strong cultural, religious, socio-political beliefs which are held by the majority per se. This Akshay Kumar, Nushrratt Bharuccha, Jacqueline Fernandez starrer film is an action-adventure which has none of the action but most of the adventure to keep you hooked to your seat.'
The story of 'Ram Setu' revolves around an atheist archaeologist turned believer, Dr Aryan Kulshrestha (Akshay Kumar), who must race against time to prove the true existence of the legendary Ram Setu before evil forces destroy the pillar of India's heritage.
'Thank God', on the other hand, is a fantasy comedy drama film directed by Indra Kumar. It is an official remake of the Danish film 'Sorte Kugler'.
