The Mumbai Suburban Railway network, also known as 'local' is considered as the lifeline of the city. It can be extremely crowded inside the train during peak hours. One such video gone viral on the internet shows women rushing to enter a moving Mumbai local, keeping all safety concerns at bay. Though, it may seem like a routine for daily commuters, but it raises serious safety concerns. 


Shared on microblogging site X, formerly Twitter, by user named Akshay, the video has amassed millions of views and tons of likes.


The clip shows a local train approaching a Mumbai station. Even as the train is in motion, women standing at the platform begin to board the train in order to secure a seat. A couple of them almost trip as they try getting into the moving train.


"You'll find this sad, scary, substandard living. But the affluent, wokes living comfortably in South Bombay glamorise this as the 'spirit of Mumbai', a 'jhunjhuna' given to the common Mumbaikars so that they feel better about their misery and don't ask for better infrastructure," reads the caption of the post.






Since being shared, the viral video has amassed 914.2k views, 13.2k likes and several comments.


"Bollywood glamorised  the Bombay dream which led to massive migration after 70s and it has ended like this for millions," commented one user on the post.


"For all the contribution towards the country's economy and the largest one at that... Mumbai always got the raw deal as far as infrastructure / civil amenities are concerned," wrote another user.
