The Delhi Metro is once again in news. This time it is not about someone making a reel inside the train or station to post it on social media, neither is it about public displays of affection (PDAs) but an ugly fight that ensued between two people. A video has gone viral on the internet that shows two backpack-wearing men engaged in an ugly fight inside a metro coach.
The video posted on the microblogging site Twitter by Sachin Bharadwaj shows them violently fighting while others onboard the same compartment stood a safe distance. Some of them, later, tried to stop them but their efforts went in vain.
The men can be seen throwing punches and pushing each other away. According to the post, the incident happened on the violet line of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).
After the video went viral, Anuj Dayal, the Principal Executive Director, Corporate Communications, DMRC said, "We request that commuters conduct themselves responsibly while travelling by Metro. If the other commuters notice any objectionable behaviour, they should immediately report the matter on the DMRC Helpline, detailing the corridor, station, time, etc. Recently, DMRC also deployed flying squads comprised of Metro and Security staff to randomly monitor such behaviour in the Metro across its network and to take necessary action under relevant provisions of law."
Meanwhile, netizens have reacted to post in several ways.
One of the user on seeing the video wrote, "Keep calm anyway; are there fewer problems in life?".
While another commented, "Shanti rakho waise bhi samsayayein kam hai kya jindagi me...."
"Delhi waloko Sharam Ani chaiye, kuch sikho Mumbai local walo se................ Jhagda kyse karte hai," wrote a third.
