Elephants are one of the most adorable and intelligent animals around. We often come across videos on social media that showcase their capabilities of understanding a wide range of emotions. They also exhibit a strong sense of community and family bond. In one such video gone viral on the internet, a mother elephant is seen teaching her baby how to cross a road carefully.
In the clip shared by Indian Administrative Officer (IAS) Supriya Sahu on the micro-blogging site Twitter, the elephant along with her baby can be seen waiting to cross the road. Moments later, both move carefully as the mother shields her baby. Soon a car approaches the road, but waits for them to cross the road.
"Mother elephant seems teaching her baby how to cross the road. A sad reality," the caption of the video shared by Sahu read.
Since being shared, the video has amassed over 39,000 views. The post was also flooded with comments.
"What is the remedy? How can we create safe environment for our wild? How can we prevent or at least minimize man-wild conflict?" wrote a user raising concern.
"Teaching for safety!. Moreover, need to consider wildlife crossings while designing road infrastructures," wrote another user.
