Teachers play an important role in shaping the future of the students. Even a small piece of advice from them can make a massive difference in the life of a student who always looks upto them for any guidance. Something similar happened with this person who traced the teacher to thank him for the great feedback he gave him almost 20 years back.
Mark Dent, Executive Headteacher of Cambrai Primary School took to the microblogging site Twitter to share the screenshot of the conversation he had recently with one of his ex-students.
"About 20 years ago you told me at a parents evening I should do something in science as I clearly love it. Graduated marine biology and just got a job offer today for microbiologist technologist at GSK. You are the first person to find out as you're the first person I thought of weirdly. It's really stuck with me all those years and I'd just like to say thank you, you were right. Have a good day mate," read the message sent by the student to the teacher.
"Today I was tracked down by an ex-pupil and received this message. The moment I read this, I burst with pride and emotion. This is what we do it for, fellow teachers," Dent captioned his post.
Since being shared, the post has garnered close to 10 lakh views and several comments.
"This is amazing. I often think of my English teacher and the things she helped me with, she has no idea. So happy you were able to be tracked down!," commented one user on the post.
"Teachers are the heroes. Society should value them more," wrote another user.
"I’m 72 years old and still silently thank my junior school teacher Mr Moreton for reading Just William he made the book come alive with all the different voices. He gave me my love of books," commented a third.
