A rare video of a moose shedding its antlers was witnessed by a couple in Alaska from their Ring doorbell camera. The couple couldn't hold their excitement and posted it on the internet that has now gone viral. In the video one can see the moose walking into the frame of the camera and stopping there in a perfect position. After a while the moose sheds its antlers.
The rare occurrence was shared on the social networking site Facebook by Tyra Bogert with the caption "This was cool to get on video! Moose dropping antlers at my house!" Since being shared, the video has amassed more than 316,000 views 3.9k likes and and 4.4k shares.
The video opens to show a moose walk into the frame of the Ring doorbell camera and shake its body, like a dog, and the antlers snap off its head. The animal, clearly startled by what happened, quickly ran away.
One seeing the video one of the Facebook user wrote, "I’ve never seen that before."

"Pretty cool I didn’t know they fell of that quick lol," wrote another user. While a third wrote, "Why was that so much more dramatic than I thought it would be?"

According to New York Post, Bogert was staying at her sister’s house when she got the notification from her Ring camera about motion at her front door. She immediately opened it, and got to witness the moose shedding its antlers in real time.
Only male moose have antlers and their growth is regulated by testosterone, according to National Geographic report.
