Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma remarked that the recent events surrounding the murder of politician Baba Siddique appear "unbelievable and ridiculous." The filmmaker reacted to Siddique’s murder and the death threats against Salman Khan from Lawrence Bishnoi.

Known for his gangster-themed films, Varma took to X, saying that if a Bollywood writer had imagined these events, they would have been criticised for being unrealistic.

Ram Gopal Varma on Baba Siddique's death

In a candid post, the director hinted that Bishnoi's conflict with Salman could be linked to Baba Siddique's death. While he didn't name anyone explicitly, it's clear that Lawrence refers to the gangster, Baba is the politician, and Salman is the star.

“A LAWYER turned GANGSTER wants to take REVENGE for a DEER’S death by killing a SUPER STAR and as a WARNING orders some of his GANG of 700 , which he recruited through face book to first kill a BIG POLITICIAN who is a close friend of the STAR .. The POLICE can’t catch him because he is under the protection of the GOVERNMENT in a JAIL and his spokesman speaks from ABROAD .. If a Bollywood writer comes up with a story like this they will thrash him for writing the most unbelievable and ridiculous story ever,” Ram Gopal Varma shared on X.

He added, “LAWRENCE BISHNOI was just a 5 YEAR OLD KID when the deer was killed in 1998 and Bishnoi maintained his grudge for 25 years and now at age 30 he says that his LIFE’S GOAL is to kill SALMAN to take REVENGE for KILLING that DEER .. Is this ANIMAL love at its PEAK or GOD playing a WEIRD JOKE ?”

Baba Siddique murder

Politician Baba Siddique was shot by assailants at a rally and later died at Lilavati Hospital on October 12. The Mumbai police arrested Pravin Lonkar on Monday in connection with the murder. Pravin is the brother of Shubuu Lonkar, who stated on social media that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was behind the attack. After the murder, security around Salman Khan's home, Galaxy Apartments, was increased.

Salman Khan and Lawrence Bishnoi controversy

For those unfamiliar, Salman Khan was accused of hunting and killing two blackbucks in Rajasthan during the filming of 'Hum Saath Saath Hain' in 1998. He was sentenced to five years in prison but was later granted bail. The Bishnoi community, which Lawrence Bishnoi is part of, considers blackbucks sacred. In a 2023 interview from Tihar Jail, Bishnoi stated that his only aim is to kill Salman Khan. Earlier this year, shots were fired at Salman’s home.
