When thinking of jalebis, the first thing that comes to our mind is the sweet sticky taste that comes from dipping it in sugar syrup, and its classic brown colour. But have you ever come across jalebis that are green in colour? Yes, you heard that right. A food blogger Amar Sirohi shared a picture of green-coloured jalebis on his Instagram page and called them Mountain Dew jalebi. Well, the ingredient used here is not the well-known soft drink, Mountain Dew.

Sirohi shared the picture of this unique jalebi and explained, "These jalebis are not green because of mountain dew or the addition of green food colour. These are actually AVAREBELE JILEBI, quite popular in Bangalore. These are made of Hyacinth Beans or more popularly known by the locals as Avarebele in Karnataka."

"The unique flavour of the Avarebele is so popular that there is even a festival/fair dedicated to it - 'Avarekai Mela'. These avarebele jalebis not only looked different but their taste was also quite different from the regular jalebi," he further explained in the post.

Since being shared, the clip has amassed 25,910 likes and tons of comments.

One of the user on seeing the post wrote, "This is so so beautiful. Totally want it. Will surely try it on my next Bengaluru visit."

"You also get grape jalebi in Mangalore, it’s purple(ish) in colour and stickier than normal jalebis," commented another user.

"One day i reach bangalore and Try 'AVAREBELE JILEBI' its my favorite," wrote another user.

"Being in Bangalore for several year, how could I missed it?," commented a fourth.

While a fifth wrote, "This is amazing. Can just dream about its taste."
