Since Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, implied on Sunday that he still stands by his statement in the old video, a previous clip of him declaring that money has no power in and of itself has gone viral.

The video that went viral was taken from an interview in April of this year, just after Elon Musk revealed his plan to acquire Twitter, which has since fallen through.

In the video clip, Elon Musk said, "People get confused sometimes they think an economy is money. Money is a database for exchange of goods & services. Money doesn't have power in & of itself. The actual economy is goods & services."

As the video gained new traction, several social media users remarked that only the richest guy in the world could assert that money has no influence. “This is a deep known secret that is so difficult for us to grasp! When u do… u become Elon Musk" one Twitter user wrote, while another wrote, "Life was much simpler when people barter food. Not that we should god back to that but money has made all of us greedy and blind."

After the founder of Amazon, Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk was the second-richest person in the world in 2021. Elon Musk, who had a net worth of $219 billion in 2022, rose to the position of richest man in the world.

Elon Musk's prospective partnership with Twitter was scrapped when Musk called it quits over the problem of phony and spam accounts. Musk was the target of legal action by Twitter.

As the judge decided to expedite the case, Twitter gained an early advantage over Musk in the legal dispute. The trial is scheduled to begin in October.

Twitter has accused Elon Musk for its recent loss of income, citing 'advertising market headwinds as well as uncertainties relating to the imminent purchase of Twitter by an affiliate of Elon Musk.'
