Differentiating between different types of daals is difficult for a lot of them. Arhar daal can easily be mistaken for chana, and moong daal can be confused with urad due to their almost identical size and colour. Despite the confusion, not many of you would have carried a sample of the dal you wanted to purchase from a grocery store. In fact a Twitter user took to the microblogging site to share he was given a daal sample by his mom while going to purchase the product, in order to avoid any confusion.

"My mom gave me a sample of the kind of daal she wanted me to get from the store because she didn’t trust me to remember," read the caption of the post shared by Twitter user named 'dumyboyfriend'. In the image one can see some orange coloured daal inside a sealed plastic bag.

Since being shared, the post has amassed close to 2 lakh views, 3,137 likes and tons of comments.

"My mom had to take me on a grocery educational trip after I got married just to teach me which daal cooks to look like which daal," commented one user on the post.

"Comments se pta chla hai ye masoor ki daal hoti hai," wrote another user.

"it will forever confuse me that this daal is called ‘laal’; BRO ITS ORANGE," wrote a third.

While a fourth wrote, "It reminds me of our types of daal wala project in school."
