Almost everyone in India love eating street food like chole bhature, samosa chaat or pani puri. And though they taste yummy, the hygiene maintained by the vendors at the stalls is largely unsatisfactory which is why we fall ill after eating out sometimes. However a young entrepreneurs Tapsi Upadhyay, also known as BTech Pani Puri Wali is working hard to serve healthy street food.
After completing her graduation in BTech, the 21-year-old girl took up the business of selling pani puri. Her aim is to serve healthy food, which is why she prepares air-fried puris and uses organic ingredients to prepare the water and the chutney served in it.
Recently a video of Upadhyay shared on Instagram by page @are_you_hungry007 went viral. The clip shows her preparing pani puri at her stall and explaining how she is using organic ingredients for the pani puri along with maintaining hygiene.
She also talks about the struggles she faces as a woman. She says that she is told by many people to not put up the stall as it is not a work of a woman. Many also ask her to go home and assist in household chores.
Since being posted the clip has amassed over 1 lakh views and close to 3 lakh likes.
"Superb! Hats off that she is doing everything it takes to be her own boss and being financially independent. Stop thinking of what others might think. She is cautious of how she wishes to serve her customers…tasty and hygienic food all the way", wrote one user on seeing the video.
"No offense to anyone..but Degree doesn't guarantee good job with good living standards. And not all can work 9-5. Good to see she started something on her own. All the best to her", wrote another user.
"Good work self business better than job", wrote another user.
