People in the national capital Delhi have been battling air pollution for a while now. The air quality index (AQI) has remained in the severe category, especially after Diwali celebrations due to burning of crackers. Stubble burning in neighbouring states like Punjab and Haryana have further added to the woes.

Visibility due to smog is also becoming a challenge. This was evident after a man shared a picture of a flying saucer with his friend which later turned out to be a water tower. The picture taken in a hazy weather due to pollution in the city looked similar to a UFO and it also caught the attention of the netizens.

The friend to whom the picture was sent, shared it on the microblogging site Twitter along with the text that was sent to him.

The smog created an optical illusion and the picture indeed looked similar to a UFO hovering in the sky. The image was shared with the caption "Text from a friend in Delhi."

This prompted some hilarious reactions from Twitter users, while some raised concerns over rising pollution levels in Delhi.

One of the Twitter user wrote, "Wo UFO hi tha...pollution se apni jaan bachane ki jaldi me, Alien chhod ke bhag gaye....aur hamko free ka tanki mil gaya..."

While another wrote, "Bahi no chance of alien dhuppp kidhar ko jo h bhai."

"Rest of India when Winter arrives: Bhai itna Fog hai kuch sahi se dikhai nhi nhi deta. Delhiwale: Pollution itna hai kuch dikhai nhi de raha," wrote a third.

"Yep, there is basically a toxic haze hanging on the air at all hours of the day. It is worst during the dawn and the evening, which is expected for smog, wrote a fourth, raising concerns over the pollution level in the city.
