The internet is replete with videos of bizarre culinary experiments like dal makhani ice cream roll, chocolate Maggi, Masala Jalebi and panipuri shawarma. And as the season of Mangoes kick in, social media had to come up with a bizarre culinary experiment involving the king of fruits.
So, how about having a Mango Pizza. Yes, you heard that right. A video has surfaced online that shows a man using the humble mango to make a pizza.
“Trying out the delicious mango pizza at 99 Pizza!” reads the caption of the video shared on the Instagram page BombayFoodieTales.
In the clip, an individual can be seen pouring mango puree over a pizza base. He then spreads it out evenly and arranges thinly-cut mango slices on top of it in a circular pattern. He adds some more puree before serving it to the customer.
Since being shared the video has amassed close to 6,000 likes and several comments.
"That’s a insult to mango …and y not eat proper pizza only if u wanna eat …," commented one user on seeing the video.
"That's it... First now mango panipuri, now mango pizza... enough reasons for me to unfollow," wrote another user.
"Unique and seasonal ke naam pe kuch bhi mat khao bhai.. Kal ko orange ka season ane wala hai, orange pizza ya orange burger banva lo," wrote a third.
"I wanna see Italians react to this... The gonna feel so disrespectful," wrote a fourth.
"That's not a pizza that's just some mango on a bread," wrote another user after seing the viral video of the bizarre culinary experiment.
