New Delhi: A man's tweet on being served dosa "baked in egg water" at Kochi airport, which he spelt as "Chochi", has gone viral on social media, drawing the ire of netizens. In his complaint, Manish Jain, who works at LIC and is co-founder of Tirthankar Investment, also asked Kerala Tourism, CMO Kerala and FSSAI to look into the issue.

"If you are in Chochi Kindly be aware of Airport Lounge named as Earth Lounge. They Simply plays with Religious Belief, Where they use Egg water to bake South India Food such as Dosa. When asked they told its As per Standard. When asked for Manual they denied to share," Manish Jain tweeted on May 3.

Jain's tweet has gone viral, with over 2,000 retweets and over 3,500 likes till Thursday. He also tagged CGH Earth Experience Hotels in his tweet. In a follow-up tweet, Jain asked the authorities to get the practice stopped so as not to "hurt the emotions of vegetarians".

"Need attention of FSSI to intervent the same...Also Request Kerala Tourism, CMO Kerala to kindly get the practice stopped to hurt the emotions of vegetarian and Jain's Travelling to Kerala," he tweeted.

Netizens were quick to pounce upon Jain and panned him for spelling Kochi as "Chochi". One user pointed out that dosa is never "baked" and said Jain must have heard "thanda paani" (cold water) as "anda paani" (egg water).

"It's Kochi/Cochin. Not Chochi. Baked Dosa doesn't exist. Cold water (thanda paani) is used by many while making the dosa batter. You heard it as Egg water (anda paani) and your vegan hysteria made you tweet this stupidity," a user tweeted.

"Check the name of Airport. Its Kochi or Cochin... not Chochi or Chachi or ChiChi or Chuchi etc. What is Egg water?" another Twitter user said.

As his tweet went viral, Jain acknowledged his mistake in spelling Kochi. "What happened was wrong and hence I highlighted it. And yes it's my bad in typing its Kochi. And egg water what the cook had told, was yellow in colour," he tweeted.

In another subsequent tweet, he said FSSAI has regulated to mention what is veg and non-veg. "If they mark as veg and prepare 'non-veg'...its not acceptable. Also what they says its standard practice...I am afraid is this is same being patern used in all their chain hotels," Jain further said.
