Most of us at some point of time have bought cheap first copies of high-end brands just to brag about it. Well, sometimes it did work in grabbing the spotlight. In one such attempt a Twitter user named Yatharth shared an entertaining story about his shoe-shopping misadventure. He shared a picture of his fake Puma shoes on which the brand’s name was written as ‘UPMA’. which actually is a popular South Indian breakfast dish.

"Thrifted this delicious shoe yesterday from a local market for 690 bucks. Will society accept me," Yatharth wrote in the caption while sharing the picture of these fake shoes.

The moment it was shared, the internet exploded with reactions to this unexpected twist. The users just couldn't stop themselves from laughing at this hilarious fail.

Since being shared, the post shared by Yatharth has amassed close to 22,000 views and a huge number of comments.

Interestingly, Swiggy Instamart, an online delivery app, retweeted this picture and wrote, "Should have checked our app before buying, itna mehnga nahi milta."

Several users joined the conversation with one saying, "If you have thrifted it at 690 bucks, I'm thinking what could be the actual price for this UMPA shoe."

"Well Society Will Accept you if you get a matching pair of socks called Sambhar," wrote another user jokingly.

"Society is not wearing it! It’s good if it’s comfortable nd not give shoe bite," commented a third.
