A bizarre yet fascinating incident recently unfolded at the Bolpur railway station in West Bengal. A video that has gone viral on social media shows a langur "working" inside the railway office instead of the staff. The langur can be seen sitting on an office chair in front of a computer, shuffling through the files and typing on the keyboard.


"Hanuman on duty at inquiry at Bolpur railway station," reads the caption of the post shared on Facebook.


The video opens to show a langur sitting on the office chair and 'typing' something on the computer. The primate can also be seen shuffling through some papers of a file kept on the table close to where it is sitting. There are also some people watching the langur in amusement from outside the office window.

Since being shared the video has amassed over 4,000 views and several likes.


Reacting to the clip, a Facebook user wrote, “New requirement for station master."


"NEW REQUIPMENT STATION MASTER," wrote another user. While a third wrote, "Wow, talk about an efficient and tech-savvy langur!"


A few months earlier, a video of a troop of monkeys using a mobile phone with utmost ease had gone viral on the internet. Shared on X, formerly Twitter,  video captured the monkeys gazing at a smartphone screen and scrolling through a social media account.






Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju had also shared the video and wrote, ''Look at the success of digital literacy awareness reaching an unbelievable level!''
