Nagaland and other northeastern states are known for their handloom and bamboo products. Many tribes living in Nagaland make textiles using the traditional backstrap loom. A video on how these products are made was shared on social media by Union Minister of Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju.

In the video shared on the micro-blogging site Twitter, a group of Naga women can be seen sitting in a circle and then systematically cleaning the cotton balls and then ginning them. They then use the cleaned cotton fibres to turn them into threads using a particular type of spindle. Lastly, a group of women transform these threads into a full fabric.

"Extremely proud of our Naga Sisters and Brothers ! Fascinating Village in #Nagaland #IncredibleIndia #NorthEast #India," read the caption of the post shared by Rijiju.

Since being shared, the video has amassed 37,000 views and over one thousand likes.

"They are the protectors of our rich culture & tradition. Congrats," wrote a user on seeing the video.

"Extremely beautiful. We must encourage them to pursue this towards start-up & help local people to get employment," wrote another user.

While a third wrote, "North East and Nagaland is the heaven on Earth."
