Imagining someone living without electricity even after 75 years of Independent is astonishing. But and elderly woman in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr, lived without electricity for decades until an IPS officer came to her help. On learning about 70-year-old NoorJahan situation, IPS officer Anukriti Sharma took it upon herself to brighten the woman's home and life. Sharma, a 2020-batch IPS officer of UP cadre reached out to the electricity department and successfully arranged for the installation of the electricity meter at Noorjahan’s residence.
The woman’s face lit up as electricity came to her house and a bulb turned on. The video also shows the team demonstrating to Noorjahan how to operate the fan and bulb, explaining the on and off functions.
The heartwarming instance was captured by the IPS officer who shared it on her Twitter handle.
"Swades moment of my life. Getting electricity connection to Noorjahan aunty's house literally felt like bringing light into her life. The smile on her face was immensely satisfying. Thank u SHO Jitendra ji & the entire team for all the support," read the caption of the video shared by Sharma.
Since being posted, the clip has amassed close to 2 lakh views, 25.7k likes and tons of comments.
