When eating out, finding out things in your food is not a pleasant experience. A group of friends in Hyderabad had a similar experience when they ordered dinner at the well-known Bawarchi restaurant on RTC X Road. They were enjoying Biryani when one of their friends finds a cigarette butt in his plate of biryani.
The video was shared on X by @DealsDhamaka with the caption, “Cigarette butts in Bawarchi biryani."
In the video, another friend lifts the plate and shows the cooked-in cigarette filter. The customer has a heated argument with the restaurant staff. In the later half of the video, the situation escalates as many members of staff including a representative of the the chain owned by Salman Mansoori are seen trying to pacify the upset customers.
They address the diners’ grievances.
One of the men claims that someone might have been smoking in the kitchen, and threw the filtre in while cooking. The customer further said that it would be better to learn how to cook biryani at home to avoid such instances.
The video has so far garnered over 14,000 views. The video rapidly went viral on social media, sparking widespread criticism of the restaurant for its apparent negligence. Several people commented on the video.
One netizen called it, “butts flavour biryani” on a similar note another wrote, “They added for additional taste”. A user suggested, “Some people(Customers )are doing this intentionally for free meal. Thats why All restaurant should have CCTV to check, to find out whose fault.”
In another incident, a couple eating at Sri Raghavendra Hotel on Warangal Highway in Peerzadiguda found a black insect in their food. The customer felt something prick his fingers as he was about to take a bite of his masala dosa. Upon closer inspection, he found an insect in his food.
