A video of an IndiGo air hostess arguing with a passenger on an Istanbul-Delhi flight has gone viral on social media. The argument between the passenger and the crew member reportedly broke out over food choices.

The video that is close to a minute long was shared on Twitter. According to the user who posted the video on the micro-blogging site  the incident happened on IndiGo's Istanbul-Delhi flight.

After the incident, the passenger named Er Gurpreet Singh Hans shared a tweet and said "Every international long distance (we can manage from Dubai to India) flight has a food choices video in front of seats but can't. Some people can manage but some can't, they need a choice of food."

"I see in front of my eyes how a man behaves with girl staff and how a lady behaves with staff," he added.

In the Tweet posted along with the video of the argument, the crew member can be heard saying “You are pointing finger at me and yelling at me. My crew is crying because of you. Please try to understand, there is a cart and counted meals are uplifted (on the plane). We can only serve what your boarding."

To this the man asks why she is "yelling" at him. "Because you are yelling on us," she answers.

Meanwhile, Jet CEO has come to the defense of the air hostess and tweeted, "As I had said earlier, crew are human too. It must have taken a lot to get her to breaking point. Over the years I have seen crew slapped and abused on board flights, called "servant" and worse. Hope she is fine despite the pressure she must be under."

One seeing the video of the argument, one of the passenger wrote, "My daughter was a passenger on this flight and she was witness to the entire incident…this video is one sided … as per her the passenger was very very rude and compelled her to reply back .. hope she gets justice .."

"Worst part is the critique she's facing on social media for not following Customer is 'King' policy! Hope the HR and Crew Training bosses at 6E are sensitive about this. They need to stand by their team," wrote another user.

While a third user wrote, "You have almost declared who the victim is. Unless you have had access to both sides of the story, your comments appear biased."

"I have seen sulking crew , tired crew , disinterested crew across airlines, exception would be Jet & Vistara. But never seen crew losing it completely like this. They are trained to deescalate situation and follow safely and security procedures," wrote a fourth.
