A video showing a farmer saving his cow from a lioness attack in Gujarat's Gir Somnath district has surfaced on social media and is going viral. The video was posted on the microblogging site Twitter by Vivek Kotadiya, a corporator of Keshod in Gujarat's Junagadh. In the video one can see a cow being attacked by a lioness but a farmer who was present there chases away the lioness. The clip was recorded by a passenger who was passing the area in his car.

The clip opens to show the cow in the clutches of the lioness. The big cat has dug its jaws deep on its neck as the cow is desperately trying to free itself. As the cow struggles, a farmer is seen approaching towards them. He comes closer but returns, only to come back with a brick and scare away the lioness.

A few months back, A video had surfaced online that showed a pride of lions roaming on the streets of Gujarat. Shared by Indian Forest Service officer (IFS) Susanta Nanda on his Twitter handle, the 45-second clip shows a group of eight lions walking down the road at night.

The video seemed to be from a residential area in Gujarat. Nobody could be seen walking on the same road but one could spot blinking headlights of vehicles approaching.

"Another day, Another pride... Walking on the streets of Gujarat," read the caption of the video shared by the IFS officer.
