Two persons were charred to death when a container truck caught fire after ramming into another truck in Telangana’s Medak district on Friday, police said. The incident took place on National Highway 44 at Kaslapur village in Narsingi mandal.


A container truck, en route Bengaluru to Hyderabad, collided with another truck that was parked on the road due to tyre puncture, IANS reported.


The impact of the collision caused a fire in the container truck, resulting in the demise of the driver and cleaner. The deceased have been identified as Nagaraju (25) and Basvaraju (24).


Upon receiving the information, a fire tender from Ramayampet rushed to the scene and extinguished the blaze. Police officials from Ramayampet and Narsingi have initiated an investigation into the incident, suspecting that the driver and cleaner were caught in the fire after losing consciousness.

Earlier, two persons were charred to death when a car in which they were travelling rammed into a stationary truck in Telangana's Nizamabad district. The incident occurred near Velpur crossroads. The car caught fire after the collision. Both the occupants were reportedly burnt alive.


Passers-by alerted police. A fire engine was rushed to the spot and the blaze was put out but by then, the car was completely gutted and both the persons on board were charred to death.


A police official said the car (Maruti Alto) was on its way from Korutla to Armoor. The person at the wheels failed to notice the stationary truck and rammed into it. Police said the truck was negligently parked by its driver after the vehicle broke down. Police identified the deceased with the help of the car's number plate.
