May is the month when summer begins to peak in Delhi and the weather becomes uncomfortable. Venturing out in the open during noon requires a lot of precaution as day temperature settles in the mid 40s. Surprisingly, that's not the case this year. The start of the month has been very pleasant in Delhi due to some rainy days. But what has been baffling is the occurance of fog. Yes, you heard that right, people of the national capital woke up to a thick layer of fog on Thursday morning after rain and thunderstorm lashed parts of Delhi-NCR on Wednesday.

The unusual weather has prompted Delhiites to share videos and pictures on Twitter with witty captions. Some also compared the weather to winter months of November and December.

"Fog in May? Now I have seen everything in life. #Delhi," wrote one user sharing a picture of the unusual weather.

"MAY MEIN FOG KYU HAI? DELHI FORGOT ITS SUMMERS," wrote another user.

"Dense #Fog in May in #Delhi, 21degree temperature...Confuse ho raha hu May heh ya December...," wrote a third.

"#ClimateEmergency #DelhiWeather Fog on a May morning in Delhi. Never ever before have I experienced this in over 4 decades of living in this city. This is surreal!," wrote a fourth.

While another user wrote, "Fog in Delhi on a summer morning! Same time last year, we were in a heat wave! Is this a result of Climate Change?"
