Delhi Police, known for its witty responses and amusing social media posts once again used its X platform to sensitise people about road safety. On Monday, the police department posted a video that showed a woman in a saree riding a pillion while her dupatta was flowing. When a man in the video tried to caution her about it, she was seen smiling and replying that it was worth Rs 1500.

The man was further heard telling her that he was not asking her the price of her saree but was instead telling her to handle it with care rather than leaving it flowing while travelling on the road to avoid any mishap.

The video stops here after which the Delhi Police's message appears on the screen stating "Aapka lehrata pallu kahin aafat na khadi karde. Lekin ISI certified helmet aapko surakshit kar sakta hai," which means that "your flowing pallu might cause a problem for you but an ISI certified helmet will keep you safe."

The video message further stated that one must obey the traffic rules to maintain road safety because a Rs 1500 pallu will not save you but a helmet will.

The post's caption also stated that road safety can be ensured by obeying the traffic rules, wearing a helmet, fastening the seat belt, and also by handling the pallu while travelling on a two-wheeler.

Another post shared by the Delhi Police on March 12 was about the various reasons people give when they are questioned why they were not wearing a helmet while riding a two-wheeler. The post was captioned "Story mat banao, helmet lagao! " and stated that the "Oscar for Best Story goes to...Bas yahin tak jaana tha, isliye helmet nahi lagaya."

The posts drew several reactions and comments from social media users. An X user while stressing the importance of how traffic rules stated, "Sir helmet and safety standards should be strictly followed. Whether it's male or female. But max females think law and order is not for them."

While a user called it funny, another asked the Delhi Police to do something about the issue where some people use high beam lights while driving which causes visibility issues to the driver coming from the either side of the road.

Delhi Police recently shared a post regarding road safety with a twist when it used Rohit Sharma's video to create awareness about wearing a helmet while a riding two-wheeler.
