Delhi Police often keeps creating awareness about road safety through the help of various social media platforms. It recently took to the microblogging site Twitter to share an important advisory with a creative twist. Reminding citizens of some basic traffic rules, the police department shared a video of a woman, dressed in bridal attire, riding a scooter without a helmet. The popular Bollywood song "Sajanji Vaari Vaari" from the film Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd also plays in the background.
The next half of the clip shows a challan slip, dated June 10, 2023. As per this slip, the woman driving the scooter, whose identity was concealed, was fined Rs 6,000 for violating two rules - driving a two-wheeler without a helmet, which carries a fine of Rs 1,000, and driving without a license, for which she was fined Rs 5,000.
"Going 'Vaari Vaari Jaaun' on the road for a REEL makes your safety a REAL WORRY! Please do not indulge in acts of BEWAKOOFIYAN! Drive safe," read the caption shared by the Delhi Police along with the clip.
Since being shared the video has amassed close to 70,000 views and several comments.
"Highly Impressive way of sharing clear message with general Public..," commented one user on the post.
"Best message Team Delhi Police. Ab yeh new generation aise hi seekhege," wrote another user.
While a third wrote, "@dtptraffic, sir there must be a heavier penalty on such people bcz they knew that they will recover challan amount from earning from social media platform."
