Tremors hit Delhi and adjoining National Capital Region along with several other places in North India on Tuesday. The quake which was measured 6.2 on the Richter scale with the epicentre in Nepal lasted for more than 10 seconds and was felt in parts of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. "Earthquake of Magnitude: 6.2, occurred on 03-10-2023, 14:51:04 IST, Lat: 29.39 and Long: 81.23, Depth: 5 Km, Location: Nepal," National Centre for Seismology posted on X. 


As the tremors were felt, people rushed out of their offices and homes and initial reports state no damage to life and property has been reported so far. 


Many social media users took their own way, through memes, to react to the incident.

































Videos shared on by social media users show ceiling fans, plants, chairs and other objects visibly shaking during the tremors. "Major tremors felt in Delhi NCR" while another called it a "strong one". 














The national capital and adjoining regions fall in sesimic zone IV, which means that it is a high-risk zone prone to earthquakes.
