A video of a Delhi cop singing a soulful rendition of the hit Bollywood song 'Roke Na Ruke Naina' has gone viral on the internet. The clip features cop Rajat Rathor singing the song from the 2017 film Badrinath Ki Dulhania at a function as two other policemen play musical instruments.
The video opens to show a group of policemen sitting in a park on a stage along with some instruments, ready to sing a song. In a few seconds Rathor begins to croon the lyrics of 'Roke Na Ruke Naina' and also plays a guitar. The other three cops can be seen playing musical instruments.
The song is originally sung by Arijit Singh and has been composed by Amaal Mallik while Kumaar wrote the lyrics.
"Roke Na Ruke Naina. One of my fav compositions," read the caption of the post shared by Rajat Rathor on his Instagram page.
"Pov: You are following your passion and duty at the same time," read a text insert on the video.
Since being shared, the clip has garnered over 26 million views, 1,587,423 likes and several comments, including from the music composer Amaal Mallik and lyricist Kumaar.
''Incredible thank you," wrote Amaal Mallik after watching the video. Kumaar, who wrote the lyrics of the popular song also commented, 'Kya baat hai.''
