New Delhi: Shlok Mukherjee from Kolkata emerged as the winner of the 2022 'Doodle for Google' competition in India. Shlok’s thoughtful and inspiring Doodle was titled, "India on the center stage." The doodle titled ‘India on the center stage', will be featured on Google.co.in for 24 hours today on the occasion of Children’s Day.


Sharing his thoughts about the doodle, Shlok, who is a student of Delhi Public School in NewTown, Kolkata said, “In the next 25 years, my India will have scientists develop their own eco-friendly robot for humanity’s betterment. India will have regular intergalactic travels from Earth to space. India will develop more in the field of Yoga and Ayurveda, and will get stronger in coming years.”


The Doodle For Google 2022 competition was conducted by tech giant Google across the world.

In a release, Google Doodle said, “We were amazed by the creativity and imagination students brought to their entries and were especially heartened that the advancement of technology and sustainability emerge as common themes across many of the doodles.”


This year’s judging panel included actor, filmmaker, producer, and TV personality Neena Gupta; Editor-in-Chief at Tinkle Comics, Kuriakose Vaisian; YouTube Creators Slayypoint; and, artist and entrepreneur Alika Bhat, and the Google Doodle team.


The jury had to select 20 finalists from entries across the nation based on the criteria of artistic merit, creativity, alignment with the contest theme, and uniqueness and novelty of the approach.


The final Doodles were showcased online for public voting. In addition to the national winner, four group winners were also selected.


Meanwhile, the global winner of the 2022 Doodle For Google contest is Sophie Arague-Liu, from Florida, United States. Sophie’s illustration titled ‘Not alone’ is very impactful.


Sophie said, “I care for myself by accepting others' care for me. Often I struggle to shoulder a burden on my own and forget that I have so many people, like my mom, who care about me and want to help me. Opening up and letting others support me not only relieves my stress—it lets me tackle things I could never do on my own.”
