Bharat Matrimony, a matrimonial website sparked a huge debate on the social media after it released an advertisement on Wednesday. The video posted on Holi, talks about the trauma faced by women that causes them to stop celebrating the festival.


As soon as the video was posted it started an online debate. While some asked the matrimonial site to take down the ad which they deemed is anti-Hindu, others praised it for raising an important issue.


In the 75-second clip, a woman can be seen removing Holi colours from her face but at last there are scars left on her face caused due to celebrating he festival.

The video after being posted became viral and triggered a massive outcry for equating a social message with Holi.


"When did you started activism instead of match making..Sad we as a society have been continuoualy misled by many such so called traditionaly named brands....Watchout Indians!!" wrote one user.






"Where did you get the data that one third of women have stopped playing Holi because of trauma?", wrote another user.






"What is this behaviour @bharatmatrimony? Tum logo ka moral lecture Hindu festival pe hi kyu chalu hota hai? Women Harrassment is not a festival linked activity but companies like you unnecessarily link such things to Hindu festivals. Stop such gyan on Hindu Festivals", wrote a third.






"#BHARATMATRIMONY Holi wish is #Hinduphobic and creating wrong false narrative to target #Hindu festival which bring joy and happiness. Where there are other religions where women’s are treated so badly but during other religion’s festivals they remain silent . #8MarchWomensDay", wrote a fourth.
