Former Infosys CFO, Mohandas Pai, on Monday, called out the Karnataka government for the poor road conditions on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) in Bengaluru. Pai slammed the authorities for the drainage and traffic problems on the ORR and said this is causing anger amongst the multinational companies that have their offices located in the area.

Pai cautioned the government if they fail to take steps to make changes in the conditions, these firms could be looking at relocating their offices to cities outside the state. Expressing frustration at the condition in the city, Pai took to social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, and said, “Promises made by CM, DCM repeatedly not upheld, trust down. This is very serious. CM/DCM should take urgent action to save city and jobs. Never seen this kind of anger and pain in last 20 years. Very sad at the misgovernance  of city, false promises, lack of action. Sad day for all of us to have such a non performing, callous, indifferent govt which treats its own citizens so badly.”

Pai’s comments came in after multiple parts of Bengaluru were flooded following heavy rainfall. The city experienced a similar situation last week when rains resulted in waterlogged streets and traffic jams that brought the city to a standstill.

He pointed out that much of the flooding in the city could have been avoided if the local bodies had cleaned and maintained the system regularly.

Multiple users on social media agreed with Pai’s opinion and called out the administration for failing to maintain the city. One of the users commented, “The lack of urgency in addressing basic issues like roads, drainage, and traffic is not just inconveniencing thousands but is actively pushing away the very businesses that fuel our city's economy. MNCs considering relocation isn't just news; it's a red alert for Bengaluru's future.”
