The silicon valley of India, Bengaluru is once again in news. This time it is about an auto driver accepting payment through a QR code on his smartwatch. The video shared on X, formerly Twitter, by a woman who encountered the situation has struck a chord with the users who are impressed by the simple but clever hack.
Taking to the microblogging site, the woman explained that she booked an auto through the Namma Yatri app, developed by the Auto Rickshaw Drivers Union. And after completing her ride, she asked the driver for the QR code who just flipped his wrist to scan the QR code on his smartwatch.
Sharing a picture of the driver accepting payment the woman wrote, "Today I met namma Tony Stark in @nammayatri. Asked my auto driver for the QR code. Man flipped his hand and showed me his smartwatch. Turns out he's saved the QR code as his smartwatch screensaver. So much swag."
Since being shared, the post has amassed more than 3 lakh views, over 7,000 likes and a whole lot of comments appreciating the idea.
