New Delhi: A beggar in Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh bought a moped motorcycle worth Rs 90,000 after his wife complained of backaches. The couple used to have a tricycle but Santosh Sahu decided to get a moped for his wife so that she wouldn’t be in pain all the time.
He told ANI, "Earlier, we had a tricycle. After my wife complained of backache, I got this vehicle for Rs 90,000. We can now go to Seoni, Itarsi, Bhopal, Indore".
According to an India Today report, he collected money for four years and bought the vehicle after paying for it in full cash. The report further said, Santosh Sahu is a person with disabilities, his wife Munni Sahu would push him around in their tricycle to collect alms. Due to bad roads, and the unpredictable weather she would often fall ill after pushing him around all day long. So he decided to buy a moped.

Over the years they were able to collect about Rs 300-400 on a daily basis by begging at bus stands, temples and mosques where they would often get their meals too, the India Today report said. After they finally had enough they bought the moped, now the wife rides with him and can travel to other towns.
