Capella Bangkok, overlooking Thailand's majestic Chao Phraya River, has topped the list of "The World's 50 Best Hotels" this year.

The hotel is located in Charoenkrung, Thailand’s oldest neighbourhood. It was ranked 11th in 2023 and climbed ten places to the list this year. The award was announced during a ceremony in London on Tuesday.

"The Capella is a masterclass in serenity and calm, from the neutral-toned, clean-lined, Japan-esque design to the brilliant and seemingly semi-psychic service that anticipates your every waking need," The World's 50 Best Hotels said on their website.

What Is Unique About The Hotel?

The hotel, opened in 2020, is surrounded by lush gardens and has the elegance of a grand dame property combined with the intimacy of a boutique hotel.

The beautiful architecture of the hotel ensures that all the 101 rooms of the hotel are spacious, light-filled, and most importantly face the water.

"Not only is the accommodation itself impressively spacious with separate living rooms and immense bathrooms, but the villas all have private gardens with a private jacuzzi plunge pool and sala lounge," the awarding agency said.

The riverside villas and suites also include their own private pool. It provides its visitors with luxury of space in a tightly packed city.

Other Hotels On The List

At the second spot is Passalacqua, located on the shores of Italy’s Lake Como. The hotel was also awarded the Carlo Alberto Best Boutique Hotel Award 2024.

The list also includes Rosewood Hong Kong at the third spot, Cheval Blanc in Paris at the fourth position and The Upper House in Hong Kong at the fifth rank.

Several other hotels like Raffles Singapore, Aman Tokyo and Soneva Fushi in Maldives are also on the list.
