A 57-year-old American grandfather embarked on an unusual weight-loss journey and succeeded in losing 26 kg in three months by eating only McDonald's meals. Kevin Manginnis, a Nashville resident, weighed 108 kg at the start of his challenge to lose belly fat, but he dedicated himself to overall health and fitness in an unusual way and with an unconventional diet. For 100 days, he only ate fries and burgers from the same fast-food outlet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Maginnis attributes his success to only eating half of the food provided at each meal and sticking to water rather than soda. "Hey, don't be bitter while I'm eating my apple fritter and losing weight," Maginnis said on the last day of his diet in an interview with NBC. Maginnis continued, "I was eating so small, I was always hungry by the time the next meal rolled around," he said.

According to Maginnis, the diet has helped him both physically and mentally, as his vital signs are normal. He claimed his heart health was at its peak because his triglycerides were 205 points lower and his cholesterol was 65 points lower. "I was pre-diabetic before, but I'm down into healthy ranges now," he said in the interview.

Maginnis posted several videos on social media chronicling his weight loss journey, in which he discussed the effects of such diets on individuals and how everyone's bodies react to food differently.

The grandfather acknowledged the lack of nutrition in his diet but stated that he had focused on combating obesity. "Are micronutrients or macronutrients better for brain health?"

"Indeed, however, if you want to get rid of obesity, reduce the size of your meals," he admitted. His family and grandchildren, he said, were the most powerful motivators for him to lose weight. Maginnis said he was able to persuade his wife to follow the same diet, and she lost 8 kg in 65 days.
