A 104-year-old woman from Chicago once again proved that age is just a number by jumping off a plane on Sunday in an attempt to created world record to become the oldest person to skydive. A verification by the Guinness World Records is still pending. A video of Dorothy Hoffner's attempt to break the world record was also posted online, which surprised people.
Skydive Chicago, the company that helped Dorothy skydive shared the video on Instagram and wrote, "Trading walkers for parachutes. It was amazing helping our 104 year old friend Dorothy Hoffner make an attempt to become the OLDEST PERSON in the world to EVER skydive! She reminded all of us this past Sunday that age is just a number and the beauty of life is just a jump away."
The video opens to show Dorothy walking up to the plane with the help of a walker. She then enters the plane with a little help from people around, and the video cuts to show her descending from the sky, along with her instructor, on a parachute. After she lands safely, people around her erupt in cheers and applause.
Since being shared, the video has garnered varied comments from people.
