One month after the inauguration of the Dr BR Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao announced on Monday the government's plans to construct twin towers near the Secretariat to house all Heads of Departments (HoDs). The integrated Twin Towers office complex aims to centralise the offices of all department heads, providing convenient access for officials working in the State Secretariat.


During a meeting, CM KCR inquired about the number of full-time staff employed under the government departments across various sectors, as well as their office space requirements. He instructed the officials to identify a suitable government-owned space near the new Secretariat for the construction of the twin towers. Once the location is finalized, the construction will commence.

Highlighting the government's commitment to supporting communities engaged in traditional occupations, the Chief Minister reaffirmed that financial assistance would be extended to certain Backward Classes (BC) castes, including Rajaka, Nayi Brahmin, Pusala, Budagajangala, and others who rely on their traditional occupations. The state government has already announced financial aid of Rs 1 lakh each for eligible individuals belonging to these castes.


Chairman of the Cabinet Sub-Committee and BC Welfare Minister, Gangula Kamalakar, explained that the assistance would be provided in a phased manner. CM KCR urged him to expedite the finalization of the procedures and launch the scheme on Welfare Day, coinciding with the State Formation Day celebrations commencing on June 2.


Subsequently, Chief Minister KCR visited the Telangana Martyrs' Memorial, currently under construction on the banks of Hussain Sagar Lake near the Secretariat. During his inspection of the ongoing work, he proposed the installation of the Telangana Talli Statue in front of the Martyrs' Memorial, further enhancing the significance of the memorial site.
