Hyderabad: Two babies who were born in the TSRTC buses will not be required to purchase a ticket while travelling on any of the corporation's buses. The TSRTC has decided to give away free lifetime passes, which will allow them to travel by bus for free for the rest of their lives.

According to the RTC, the first girl was born on November 30, near Peddakothapally village, in a bus belonging to Nagarkurnool depot. On December 7, another woman gave birth to a baby girl near Siddipet while travelling in a bus belonging to the Asifabad depot.

The two to be mothers went into labour unexpectedly while travelling to their separate locations, and TSRTC crew members and fellow passengers assisted them in delivery.

Later, TSRTC personnel carefully admitted the mothers and newborns to the nearby government hospital, officials said on Wednesday.

In a quest to improve the quality of bus services and take personal feedback from the passengers, TSRTC has launched the 'Bus Day' program every Thursday.

TSRTC MD Sajjanar directed all officers, employees and administrative officers working in the RTC to come to the offices on the bus every Thursday as a matter of duty. As part of this, the 'Bus Day' program started from today.
