A Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) bus carrying over 40 passengers had a narrow escape when it caught fire near Pedda Amberpet, close to the Outer Ring Road (ORR) in Hyderabad, on Friday. No injuries were reported as all the passengers had already disembarked before the fire spread.
The bus, which was en route from Hyderabad to Guntur, was carrying 45 passengers at the time of the incident. A vigilant passenger noticed smoke emanating from the bus and promptly alerted the driver. Acting swiftly, the driver informed all the passengers and evacuated the bus.
A fire engine quickly arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire. The bus got partially burnt in the incident. Preliminary investigation conducted by RTC officials showed that the fire originated in the air conditioning system of the bus.

On Friday, a fire broke out in three bogies of the Howrah-Secunderabad Falaknuma Express train in Yadadri Bhongir district of Telangana. No casualties were reported.
The train was stopped between Pagidipalli and Bommayapalli by the locomotive pilot after he was alerted to smoke emanating from one of the coaches. Promptly responding to the situation, all passengers were evacuated before the fire could spread to adjacent coaches.
Four of the coaches were completely gutted, while two others were partially damaged. Railway personnel promptly detached the affected coaches to prevent the fire from spreading further. Railway officials have confirmed that all passengers are safe. Fire engines from various locations in the district were deployed to extinguish the fire.
The overhead power supply was also disconnected as soon as authorities were alerted of the blaze. Senior officials from South Central Railway (SCR) arrived at the scene to assess the situation and made alternate travel arrangements for the affected passengers.
To assist the stranded passengers, a special train was dispatched from Secunderabad.
